Wood Usage

The giant platform is about 15x8x6 feet = 5.63 cords.

The large platforms are about 9x6x5 feet = 2.11 cords each.

The small platform is about 4x7x4 feet = 0.88 cords.

In 2001 we used all of one large platform and the small platform to make about 29 gallons of syrup.

That's.......
0.10 cords of wood per gallon
or
12.8 cu. ft. per gallon
or
a stack of wood in 2-foot lengths that is 2 feet tall by 3.2 feet long per gallon.
