The Saga of Wayne's Sugar Operation Continues
It was the first weekend in May, and in the midst of the various fertility rites, Wayne was planning ahead to the next sugaring season.
Wayne called in his vast army of volunteers to help cut and carry wood.
Wayne brought out the heavy duty equipment to help out.
Then tragedy struck! Rob, the sap master emeritus, caught his foot in the wood pile and fell, incurring a greenstick fracture of the tibia (a fracture which since has become a complete fracture, alas). As we can see in this picture, Rob bears Wayne no malice for the incident.
Or does he....?.
Since Rob's accident, Wayne has carefully reviewed his processes, and now all work is carried out under stringent safety precautions.
This has nothing to do with sugaring, but a bit to do with English Country Dancing. James has taken up Morris Dancing and participated in the May Day celebration in Montague.
....as did Sue.
In the background we can see the jester on the sidelines in a cast. (OK, so he's not in a cast, but I couldn't resist the opportunity for a mildly obscure pop reference.)
The raising of the maypole seems to have a paricularly spiritual effect on James.
